In 2018 I produced a major documentary work about an incredibly unique island in Japan.
The island of Aogashima is very hard to get to. Harsh weather means the boat is canceled every other day, and high winds or mist also prevent travel from the next closest island from being completely reliable.
I visited this island 5 times over the course of a year, photographing and filming the landscape and the local residents.
This is my first long form documentary, clocking in at about 40 minutes. The cinematography (including aerials) was largely done by me, with some additional footage provided by the always fantastic Irwin Wong.
As it is currently still being submitted to festivals, I can only show the trailer here, but if you would like to see the film please contact me to arrange a private screening.
